Mass-Produced Energy

This is the energy that is produced in massive quantities, either working for/against nature.

Last Post - What's Inside the Glove?

I think this top photo is fantastic. What do you think it is?....... It's the inside of a baseball. One of the boys decided to take it apart and unstrung it to get to the rubber center. I wish he finished, so I could take a photo of it, but he didn't, he go hung up in a game of hot box.

Watch Out Mr. Police Officer! It's BIG BAD JACK!

This sign is posted on all the fields. Many people bring their dogs to the fields. I guess dogs love baseball too! This is my friend's dog Jack. He is so mellow.

The Nature of the Game

The baseball fields are full of green grass right now because of the rain, and they are also full of dandelions. The little kids love to pick them and blow away the remains.

Looking Through the Fence

Like the title says "Looking through the fence", Most of the games are viewed this way, sitting behind the back stop. I really like the close-up fuzzy look of the fence, surrounding the photo.

Energy in Nature

Energy is found abundantly in nature, through the basic elements of the Earth and all the life that inhabits it. Here are some examples of that.

Greenhouse Project

Please view my pictures on fotothing for my best work. Some pictures were taken outside. Some were taken inside a greenhouse. If you choose to look at my older photos, you will see the difference between summer flowers and spring flowers. I hope you enjoy my series.

Grades Due Friday

Hi Everyone....

Class ends this week and since graduation is coming up so quickly, the Registrar has asked that my grades for both ADP and day classes be submitted no later than Friday, May 7th.

Do you best to post all of your wok by then.  I'll be looking at both your posts to this blog as well as the work you posted in your fotothing portfolio.  Your comments on other students work here on the blog and in fotothing also plays in the mix.

Have a great summer.  As always, it was a fun way to offer this class and the excellent results show that it was worthwhile.

Just a few more photos I wanted to share from my visit to New York. The last one isn't about architecture but I really liked the way it came out. It was taken from a boat taken out from the harbor in Manhattan. I've posted more on fotothing.

I see seaweed

These 2 are from a recent venture to the shoreline - from what I'm told, I think this seaweed is called rhodophyta. The water made the strand contort into a cool circle.

Up in the clouds...

Just a couple more shots from a higher altitude while we went hiking. This was before we actually entered into the clouds - it got to misty and then turned to rain so I didn't want to take my camera out to risk damage.

This week I went with some more dilapidated buildings and spent most of my time in New Haven around the harbor area. I found a lot of places that would have been great for pictures but it was hard to gain access to those areas. Next week I will be in New York and it will be nice to have a diverse selection of subjects to choose from.

I borrowed a whitebox to take pictures of my mother's pottery for her website. More here: /theresnoneedtorush/

Hi Everyone,

I had a very hard time picking the photos I wanted to post but here they are. I had fun going through my pictures and editing them. I have a great photo album of my vacation that I keep getting a lot of compliments on and I still have many other shots to go through. I have definitely learned a lot in this class and am going to continue using Picasa to edit my future pictures. It's pretty funny thinking back to my first post and wondering what everyone was talking about when they gave me advice to straighten out my photo...lol. Human Energy

This segment displays what I call "human energy," which includes anything from what fuels us as humans to the energy we put out from our own bodies, to the energy we use (and at times, waste.)

I took some pictures in my garage and I found an old factory building with the doors open that I'm going to return to this week.

More Trees Changing in Spring

Here you see a change in weather. First, sunny then clouds start rolling in, then the rain begins.

Hi Everyone,
I went to Bermuda and I've posted some pictures from my vacation. They were taken in Hamilton, St George and King's Warf. It's amazing how different and more vivid the colors are down there from the water, to the homes and buildings, to the sky. I tried taking different shots besides landscapes and tried to get some interesting close ups. I have so many photos to go through. I am still developing my "eye" when reviewing and find myself straightening most of the photos and playing with the different lighting and coloring features. Editing a picture can take it from an okay shot to something really good but it takes a few different edits, undos, and redos to get it right. And even then sometimes I'm not sure if its right but I am learning alot. You can see the rest at http://www.fotothing.com/rhonda4313/.
