I finally have some photos to show! Here are two shots from my "A Day in the Life" series... which is a profile of my best friend Steve.
I am having an issue getting my camera to take shots with the auto exposure setting without the flash. It's kind of annoying to have to set the focus and exposure without a tripod or a whole lot of time to take photos. Plus I have no idea what to do with the aperature settings. Are there any good internet tutorials for such things?

  1. HI Joe, interesting photos. I see Steve likes biking and the second amendment..lol. The contrast between the solid white wall and the subject in your black and white shot is great. The shadow of the wheel adds depth to the shot. The second shot came out good also with the focus on the gun clear and sharp.

  2. The top one is riddled with noise and is out of focus. First begin with good light... that is the first rule of photography. As you don't have proper studio lighting to bring on location, that means working to find great light first then bring in Steve. This project raises the bar quite a bit over finding a bicycle wheel in a puddle in full daylight.

Manually turn off the flash (read your manual)... raise the ISO manually to overcome camera shake form low light.
